California Science Center
This musuem is great for children of all ages. There is plenty of hands-on activities where kidsw can experience learning. The best part is their staff is amazing, so you don't have to have all the answeres. They are right there putting on demonstrations and helping children understand what is happening in kid-friendly language. Admission is free and it is open daily at 10 am.
 
This museum is very interactive and will keep your child entertained for hours. There is both an outdoor and indoor exploration area and is suited for children one year to nine years old. There are also a lot of programs and events that your child can participate in throughtout the year.

Lomita Railroad Museum
This museum houses a several cabooses, a steam locomotive, oil tank car, wood box car, water tower, and railroad mural.

Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County National Register
This museum houses three floors of exhibits with complete skeletons of dinosaurs, grand dioramas, historical artifcats, as well as the Mineral Hall which has the largest collection of gold in the United States. There is many programs that the museum offers for families, such as "Overnight Adventures". There is free admission the first Tuesday of every month.
 
Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits
Children can learn about Los Angeles as it was nearly 40,000 years ago, during the last Ice Age. Admission is free on the first Tuesday of each month. 
 
To visit this musuem the admission is free. However, there is a small charge to ride the small train that circles around the museum. Chidren will learn up close about transportation, as they are able to see a variety of steam locomotives.

Western Museum of Flight 
This museum offers children the opportunity to see and touch airplanes that paved the way of aviation, as we know it.
